It’s the week of Our Lord’s Passion. Some of us go together and watched the Mel Gibson movie of that title. I tried to watch it last year by myself and couldn’t get past the brutality of it all. Jesus was forever changed that day. Beaten beyond recognition, I wonder if He still has all the scars, not just the nail prints and the spear wound. How about the scars from the crown of thorns? How about the ones on his torso and legs? Is He forever scarred? Will we recognized Him when He returns?
I am listening to Christmas music as I write this commentary. Christmas music is so full of hope. It speaks of God’s possibilities and promises. The Crucifixation speaks only of death and darkness. I am so glad the Easter Sunday is coming. It brings me back to Christmas with all its possibilities and promises. God is so good!!
