Welcome to Serenity Seekers!
“ For the LORD hears the poor, And does not despise His prisoners.” Psalm 69:33
Serenity Seekers is all about serving the imprisoned, the incarcerated and their families. We serve those on the inside by leading Twelve Step Bible Studies from “Serenity: A Companion for Twelve Step Recovery.” Serenity Seekers has developed a unique curriculum for use inside. We provide Prison Ministry Training on the outside for those who want to join in our efforts. If opportunity provides and the way is cleared for us to work with the families of inmates, we do that as well. In 2011, one Monday Night Group adopted a family and was able to help with re-carpeting kids bedrooms and providing assistance for Christmas. We also provide support groups on the outside that help ease the pain, guilt, shame and embarrassment of having a family member locked up.
For more than thirty years Serenity Seekers’ founders have researched and investigated various modalities and methods of recovery and community support. This search has been, and continues to be more than exhaustive. Discovering what best benefits addicts and alcoholics has led to a comprehensive study program that takes two to three years to complete. The purpose of this writing is to share the curriculum which is the result of SS research. Please join Serenity Seekers in providing, facilitating and/or teaching the program to inmates at Monroe Corrections. Instruction currently occurs three mornings a week; classes are two hours long. MCC men have been greatly blessed by this program. Witnessing at least six baptisms demonstrates success. Extreme growth and maturity in numbers and quality of life has been more than encouraging to SS staff.
Joining with SS is welcome in any form; whether you give time, talent, touch or treasure, God loves a cheerful giver. He also accepts the grumpy by the way!! Our contact information is located on the header of this letter. SS looks forward to hearing from you.
